Ethan Anthony Couch born April 11, is an American man who at age 16 killed four people while driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs on June 15, , in Burleson, Texas. He was intoxicated, driving on a restricted license and speeding in a residential area when he lost control, colliding with a group of people assisting another driver with a disabled SUV. Four people were killed in the collision and a total of nine people were injured. Couch was indicted on four counts of intoxication manslaughter for recklessly driving under the influence.

Shortly after 8 p. Vaughan said the driver, later identified as year-old Tyler Dewayne Gillenwater, then apparently noticed Vaughan's patrol car and accelerated, passing a vehicle on a double yellow line in front of the police station. Upon checking the tag number Vaughan learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Kingsport. Radar indicated the vehicle was traveling 57 mph in a 30 mph zone as Vaughan pursued it north on Hammond Avenue. Gillenwater allegedly turned onto Hurd Road, and then blew a stop sign as he turned east on Carters Valley Road.
